Why I’m doing this.
So far the majority of my documentary family photography work has been focused around families with younger children.
While I love photographing these younger years (and will very much continue to do so), I am looking to expand my portfolio and
document what life looks and feels like for families with teens.
These are the years when the images aren’t so much about photographing the cute things they are doing, but rather who they are as an individual as they transition into this new stage of life.
What interests absorb their time and attention? What relationships are valuable to them now? How are they choosing to present themselves to their peers and wider world? What do family dynamics look and feel like for teenagers and other family members?
There is so much value in capturing these teenage years.
Not only is it a way to see how far they have come over the years, but it is a chance for them to have images where they can feel seen and valued.
And I would love capture these images for you, your family, and your teenager(s).
