Short Version

The What

My name is Laura and I am a videographer based in the West of Ireland. I enjoy collaborating with my clients and finding ways to capture what is important to them whether that is making pancakes with their children on a Sunday morning or capturing an event they’ve been planning for months. In regards to my style, I am not one for posing or using artificial light, but prefer to capture the moment as it is happening.

Here are the different types of short films I create.

  • Lifestyle videos: Family | Children | Infants
  • Artists: Profiles | Workshops
  • Events: Festivals | Education

Long Version

The Who

Unlike many filmmakers, I did not grow up with a camera in hand from a young age. It wasn’t until I started travelling in my early 20’s that photography started becoming a part of my life. Very quickly after getting my first camera and realising what it offered, I became interested in capturing the individuals, places, and cultures that were weaving in and out of my life. I was fascinated with our relationships to each other and our environments and capturing these types of moments became a thrilling challenge.

The Why

Over time I became more interested in movement and started delving more deeply into videography. Since starting Soft Day Media in 2017, I have worked with a wide range of visual artists, documented many arts festivals and captured intimate moments within families.

Life can be fast paced and I find joy in being able to capture what is important to you here and now, whether that be simple moments within everyday family life, documenting an event you have put time and energy into, or capturing you in your artistic flow. These are moments that become more special as years go by.

Each project is unique and I aim to use my creative eyes and find ways to tell your story in visually exciting way.

Capturing the unplanned, unposed moments.

Constantly looking at ways to improve with each new project and collaboration.
